Our Mission

Our Savior commanded the disciples, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.” (Luke 2:10)

Before He ascended to heaven after His resurrection, He again commanded, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)

Someone has said, “Christ’s last command is our greatest concern.” There is no greater task on earth than proclaiming the Gospel of God’s saving grace to a world without hope because it is without Christ.

William Carey, who is called the “Father of Modern Missions,” served the Lord in India for many years. He gradually became very concerned about the attitude of his son, Felix. The young man had promised to become a missionary, but he reneged on his vows when he was appointed ambassador to Burma by the Queen of England. Carey wrote to his friend, asking prayer for his son with these words: "Pray for Felix. He has degenerated into an ambassador of the British government when he should be serving the King of Kings."

In obedience to the Lord’s command to “preach the Gospel to every creature,” Faith Missionary Baptist Church supports 22 missionary works, both locally and internationally.

Every Thursday morning at 9:15 FMBC holds a men’s prayer meeting to pray for the church, our leaders, and the needs of those at the church. In addition, we participate in the annual “Ironworks Men’s Conference” to which men from all over the state of West Virginia come for encouragement and instruction from God’s Word.

We invite you to join with the men of FMBC and the exciting things the Lord is doing in our lives.

Ladies

The ladies of Faith Missionary Baptist Church are all encouraged to active participants in The Joyful Ladies group. The group meets monthly for a potluck dinner for the express purpose of serving the membership of the church. The meetings consist of dinner, devotions, prayer time, and Christian fellowship.

The group focuses on the following:

planning and providing special dinners for the church
family meals and comfort for the bereaved
provisions for those who are ill
assistance with financial needs
meals for visiting evangelists
meals for missionaries
financial support for worthy causes

Coming together to serve the Lord in these matters has created a wonderful bond and closeness within the group.

You are cordially invited to join The Joyful Ladies as we endeavor to spread the joy of Christ through individual service and ministry.

Teens

Our youth group class includes Sunday School and Wednesday evening class, and occasional teen activities and outreaches. Our youth group is designed to help our teens grow in their faith and serve the Lord and our community.

Children

Faith Missionary Baptist Church offers a variety of children's ministries for all ages.

Ages 0-2 yrs

The nursery is well-staffed with individuals who will lovingly care for your child during all services.

Age 3 years old-6th Grade

Sunday School classes for all ages/grades
Children’s Church during the Sunday morning service (age 4yrs-2nd grade)
Joy Clubs on Wednesday evenings meet at 6:30 for age 3 yrs through 6th grade.
